Student Lab Hardware and Software

The Student Computer Lab, located in Wasserstein Hall B020, is equipped with 25 Windows XP computers and 5 Macs running OS 10.4. Software on these machines include:

• Microsoft Office Suite

Training

Introductory training on iMovie or Final Cut Pro is available at the Student Help Desk. Please contact the Student Help Desk for more information or to schedule a training session.

Additional Policies

• User accounts/ files will be deleted 30 days after creation date. If you need more time you must contact the Student Help Desk before the 30 day expiration.
• You must save all of your project files under your user account- remember to log in each time!
• Files saved under the generic or administrator profile are subject to immediate deletion (to ensure adequate space for legitimate video editing projects).
• User files are backed up weekly and stored on external hard drives in a secure location. Back ups are kept for 60 days.
• Respect copyright policies.

Student Fax Machine

A fax machine is available for student use. Pricing is as follows:

• Domestic: $2.95 first page, $1.50 each additional page
• International: $4.95 first page, $3.45 each additional page
• Incoming: Free!

The phone number for incoming faxes is posted on the fax machine; you must be present at the machine to receive incoming faxes. Faxes not retrieved within 4 hours will be discarded.

Hours of Operation

The Student Computer Lab and Help Desk are open:

Monday- Friday: 8:30 a.m. - 7 p.m.

Summer Hours begin on Memorial Day and are Monday- Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Regular hours are subject to change; changes will be posted here, in the Adviser and in the Lab.
