The Harvard Law School campus is located on the northwest side of Harvard Yard. Recent improvements to the campus include extensive renovations of Harkness Commons, Hemenway Gym, and the primary teaching spaces in Pound Hall. Other enhancements have been aimed, in part, at creating more outdoor spaces that the Law School community can enjoy in the spring, summer, and fall seasons—and an ice-skating rink is located next to the student center each winter.
The campus consists of 19 buildings, and is currently undergoing a major addition. In 2007, the Law School began work on the Northwest Corner Project, a proposed academic and student complex comprising approximately 250,000 square feet at the corner of Everett Street and Massachusetts Avenue. The Northwest Corner will dramatically improve the teaching environment, provide new spaces for student activities, and significantly strengthen clinical education.
