SIMON A. COLE
Simon A. Cole is a Visiting Scientist in the Department of Science
and Technology Studies at Cornell University and a Scholar-in-Residence
in the Department of Law, Police Science, and Criminal Justice Administration
at John Jay College, City University of New York. He is currently
a Co-Investigator (with Professor Michael Lynch) on a National Science
Foundation-funded comparative study of the legal-scientific controversies
surrounding forensic identification by fingerprints and DNA. He
is the author of Suspect Identities: A History of Fingerprinting
and Criminal Identification (Harvard, 2001). He has testified
as an expert witness in several hearings on the admissibility of
fingerprint evidence. He received his Ph.D. in Science and Technology
Studies from Cornell University.
