
MARY PROSSER
Mary Prosser has been the Deputy Director of the Criminal Justice
Institute (CJI) at Harvard Law School since 1997. She joined CJI
as a clinical instructor in 1992, after having been a public defender
with the Committee for Public Counsel Services in Massachusetts
since 1984. Between 1981 and 1984 she was the Director of Deer Island
Legal Services, an on-site legal services office for incarcerated
persons at the Suffolk County House of Correction. From 1977 to
1981 she was in private practice in Madison, Wisconsin. In addition,
she was a clinical instructor in two clinical programs at the University
of Wisconsin Law School: the Legal Defense Project and the Legal
Assistance to Institutionalized Persons Program. She is a co-author
of Beyond the Rodney King Story: An Investigation of Police Conduct
in Minority Communities (Northeastern University Press 1995).
