JAMES C. WILSON
Jim Wilson currently serves as the Chief Counsel to the Committee
on Government Reform, U.S. House of Representatives. He is a graduate
of Yale College and Columbia Law School. Prior to his current position,
Wilson was a law clerk to the Hon. John A. Terry, District of Columbia
Court of Appeals (1989-1990). He also served as a Special Assistant
to Attorney General William P. Barr and as Deputy Associate Attorney
General, U.S. Department of Justice (1991-1993). He has also practiced
at the Washington, D.C. law firm Shaw, Pittman.
During his five-year tenure at the Government Reform Committee,
Wilson has been involved in a number of high profile Congressional
investigations, including the investigation of campaign finance
violations during the 1996 Presidential election and the controversial
pardons of individuals such as international fugitive Marc Rich.
He has been involved since early 2001 in an extensive investigation
of allegations of Justice Department misconduct in New England over
a four decade period. Many of the allegations involve the use of
Top Echelon criminal informants by the FBI, use by prosecutors of
possibly perjurious testimony, and failures of cooperation between
federal and local law enforcement.
