JAMES C. WILSON

Jim Wilson currently serves as the Chief Counsel to the Committee on Government Reform, U.S. House of Representatives. He is a graduate of Yale College and Columbia Law School. Prior to his current position, Wilson was a law clerk to the Hon. John A. Terry, District of Columbia Court of Appeals (1989-1990). He also served as a Special Assistant to Attorney General William P. Barr and as Deputy Associate Attorney General, U.S. Department of Justice (1991-1993). He has also practiced at the Washington, D.C. law firm Shaw, Pittman.

During his five-year tenure at the Government Reform Committee, Wilson has been involved in a number of high profile Congressional investigations, including the investigation of campaign finance violations during the 1996 Presidential election and the controversial pardons of individuals such as international fugitive Marc Rich. He has been involved since early 2001 in an extensive investigation of allegations of Justice Department misconduct in New England over a four decade period. Many of the allegations involve the use of Top Echelon criminal informants by the FBI, use by prosecutors of possibly perjurious testimony, and failures of cooperation between federal and local law enforcement.
