The Criminal Justice Institute
of Harvard Law School
The
Criminal Justice Institute (CJI) is Harvard Law School's curriculum-based
clinical program in criminal law. Established by Professor Charles
J. Ogletree, Jr. in 1990, CJI offers classroom instruction and clinical
experiences in criminal and juvenile law for Harvard Law School students,
while providing representation to indigent criminal defendants and
to juveniles. CJI has long been active in criminal justice and human
rights matters, and has written and spoken out about criminal justice
issues of national concern. In addition, CJI has sponsored national
conferences on issues ranging from habeas corpus to juvenile justice
to racial profiling.

representation of individuals in pursuit of their claim of innocence,
and provides support to network lawyers working on innocence cases.
In addition, Testa, Hurwitz & Thibeault, LLP trains, supervises, and
works closely in their offices with area law students who assist the
project.
