Criminal Prosecution Clinic

Clinical placements are in local district attorneys' offices, where students represent the Commonwealth, prosecuting non-jury criminal cases in district court. Students are likely to handle arraignments, bail hearings, pre-trial conferences, motion hearings, and trials. Some students may have the opportunity to assist a state prosecutor on pretrial preparation of superior court cases or to handle a jury trial in district court. Since students are directly responsible for prosecuting a docket of cases (under the supervision of an assistant district attorney), they will need two full days free (9 am to 5 pm) in their schedules for this clinical placement.
