Hale & Dorr Legal Service Center
Harvard Law School clinical organization located in Jamaica Plain, MA. Provides pro-bono and low-cost civil legal assistance to low-income clients in areas including housing, employment, family law, consumer issues and special education issues and more.

Harvard Legal Aid Bureau
Clinical organization at Harvard Law School that provides pro-bono legal assistance to low-income clients in cases concerning family law, government benefits, employment, and housing.

Legal Advocacy Resource Center
Provides telephone information and legal referrals on a wide range of civil issues. Conducts all intake for Greater Boston Legal Service (GBLS), Cambridge and Somerville Legal Services (CSLS), and Volunteer Lawyers Project (VLP). No direct representation.

State agency overseeing all public defenders and court-appointed attorneys in MA.

MA Correctional Legal Services
Provides legal service to people in MA prisons and jails, including inmates at Bridgewater State Hospital. Specifically focuses on four main areas: health and mental health care, guard-on-prisoner violence, physical conditions of confinement, and segregation and isolation.

For information regarding housing related issues:

Tenant Advocacy Project
Student practice organization at the Harvard Law School that provides legal advice and representation for public housing tenants at hearings before local housing authorities. Cases Handled:  Public housing evictions, application denials, reasonable accommodation requests, transfer denials; subsidy terminations (for subsidies administered by housing authorities – not project-based subsidies).  TAP also provides telephone advice on general landlord-tenant problems to tenants in the greater Boston area who meet our income guidelines.
