Reading student evaluations

Student evaluations of their clinical, summer, SPO, and volunteer experiences provide useful information for students choosing a clinic or public service opportunity.

Under Your Public Service and Clinical Practice, select Search in the left navigation bar. Search by organization keyword. Scroll to the clinic or organization you are interested in. The Evaluations column will contain a number linking to evaluations for that organization. After clicking on the number, you will see an aggregate of all evaluations. You can filter by position type and link to full evaluations.

You can also limit the results to clinics.

You can then select the individual clinics for which you would like to view evaluations.

You can also link to the evaluations from an organization detail page.

Submitting evaluations

You will receive an email when you have an evaluation to submit. There will also be a notification on your HELIOS homepage. These confidential evaluations help OPIA and the Office of Clinical and Pro Bono Programs learn which organizations offer good experiences. Supervisors do not have access to view them.

Finding public service opportunities

Under Your Public Service and Clinical Practice, select Search in the left navigation bar. All organizations and currently advertised positions will be displayed. You can narrow your search by keyword and location, and filter by position type, issue area, practice setting, work type, and/or clinic. These filters are listed under the search box at the top of the page.

Tracking your activity

Your Summary

Your summary will display all of your public service summer, clinical, SPO, and volunteer positions and pro bono hours. Summary and the Degree Audit display the status of your 40-hour pro bono graduation requirement. From here you can enter time logs and evaluations.

Your Interests

Selecting your interests helps OPIA and the Office of Clinical and Pro Bono Programs know how to target programming and opportunities. You can receive automatic emails of jobs that match your interests. This can be edited at any time.
