About Us
Our Goal: With appropriate faculty supervision, HNMCP will train a new generation
of lawyers with the skills they need to help clients manage disputes
efficiently and creatively. Through work with real clients, students gain
a broader understanding of the contexts in which lawyers must apply
critical negotiation skills to manage conflict and to design more
effective processes for helping clients resolve disputes. In addition,
students will develop a deeper understanding of negotiation theory.
The Harvard Negotiation and Mediation Program (HNMCP) is one of the sixteen clinical programs at Harvard Law School. The clinic currently has a staff of two faculty supervisors and one clinic coordinator, and will hire a third faculty supervisor in 2008.
