Luz joins the Community Enterprise Unit as a Senior Clinical Fellow after opening a solo practice in Compton, California. In solo practice, Luz represented entrepreneurs, small businesses and non-profits on matters related to entity formation, corporate governance, real estate transactions and contracts. Luz also advised clients through workshops and meetings with members of organizations such as the Small Business Development Center, the National Latina Business Women’s Association and local chambers of commerce. Prior to opening up her office, Luz was an associate in the real estate department of a large San Francisco based law firm. Luz is President and founder of Community Lawyers, Inc., a nonprofit organization fostering community-based lawyering. Luz graduated from Stanford University, A.B., A.M., and Harvard Law School, J.D.
