Hugh Jones is a senior partner in the Corporate Department of WilmerHale. His law practice has focused on new ventures, corporate and commercial transactions, joint ventures, professional service organizations and charitable corporations. Hugh is one of the partners in charge of the Firm’s charitable partnership with Cathedral High School in Boston’s South End, and has served on the Firm’s Executive, Conflicts and Ethics, Hiring, and Public Service Committees. Hugh has also served on the Boards of various charitable organizations and is currently a Trustee of The Art Complex, Inc. and of Boston Children’s Chorus, Inc. Hugh is a member of the Board of Directors of the national Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights under Law, where he served as an Executive Committee member and Northeast Regional Vice Chairman from 1997-2003. He has served as President of the Boston Bar Association, as a Board member of the Boston Bar Foundation, as Chairman and a Steering-Committee member of the Boston Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights under Law, as a member of the Advisory Committee on Public Charities for the Attorney General of Massachusetts, and as a member of the Massachusetts Governor’s Advisory Committee on Corrections. Hugh graduated from Amherst College in 1960, studied at the London School of Economics in 1960-61 as a Fulbright Scholar, and received his LL.B. degree from Harvard Law School in 1964. He and his wife, Sara, have four grown children.
