The Office of Clinical and Pro Bono Programs is organizing two unique service trips to South Africa in January with the help of Global Imprints. Students will gain a broader vision of the socio-economic, political and legal realities of South Africa, while discovering meaningful opportunities to use legal skills to make a difference. Students will be doing legal work with local organizations in South Africa such as PlayPumps international, Ithemba, Rural Women’s Movement, and Legal Resources Centre. Students will connect with local leaders, business people, and governmental officials. Partial to full funding provided.
The Office of Clinical and Pro Bono Programs at HLS is seeking to create a diverse and interdisciplinary group of participants for the South Africa service trips. In reviewing the applications, we will seek a final composition of students representing a range of perspectives from private sector, public interest, LLM students, and joint-degree candidates with an interest in environmental law, business and finance, engineering and international development.
