Shelter Legal Services offers free legal advice and representation to homeless and low-income individuals throughout Cambridge and Boston, and are seeking law student volunteers. Anna Schleelein of Shelter Legal Services will be on campus on January 27 to discuss opportunities for law students, including first year students, to gain legal experience working directly with low income clients. They take many different types of cases from consumer debt, housing, and family law, to veterans’ benefits and social security. Work done with Shelter Legal Services can count for pro bono credit and public service initiative points. Training for spring semester will be Saturday, January 31 from 10:00am – 12:30pm at Boston University Law School.
