I never knew the real meaning of the word ‘interdisciplinary’ until I came to HLS. Suddenly, you can see the law in everything and everything in the law. My HLS classes were fascinating adventures into the realm of the limitless possibilities of using the law to identify problems and offer solutions by looking at it through the lenses of economics, history, political science, and even psychology. Indeed, in the real world, the law never exists in a vacuum. Certainly, my courses here have given me the ability to broaden my horizons and to look at the problems of society from different angles. This capacity is a must for any aspiring policymaker, legislator, practitioner, professor or jurist in today’s global village. But more important than the courses, the people at HLS make this new understanding possible. Meeting people with all kinds of backgrounds from all over the world and exchanging ideas with the foremost legal luminaries on the HLS faculty are simply amazing experiences.
