I took advantage of the possibility to cross-register and attended classes at the Harvard Business School and at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University, in addition to my classes at the Harvard Law School. All these courses gave me an invaluable insight into different areas and exposure to different teaching methods. One of my most exciting days at Harvard was during a negotiation class where we discussed national border conflicts resolution. Our professor asked us to brainstorm potential solutions and then briefly stepped out of the classroom. When he came back, he had a surprise guest with him. We were all very curious! It turned out to be the President of one of the two countries we were discussing! We had the unique chance to discuss the border conflict and hear the President’s viewpoint!
Due to the fact that I came here with my daughter, the location of the University was a very important factor for me. My daughter enjoyed the advantages of both being close to Boston, with weekly visits to the museums there, and living in Cambridge, which is a small and safe city. However, as the classes are challenging, I have not been able to spend much time with my daughter. Therefore I would advise students who are going to bring their children to plan for full time childcare.
