Career goals: Throughout my life, I have always known that improving the lives of others, particularly women, would be an integral part of my career as a scholar and a teacher. Scholarship in and promotion of constitutionalism, international law and development, human and women’s rights are my passion.

The three pillars of law school and legal practice – research, analysis, and writing – are my passion. I enjoy the thrill of discovering and embracing a subject, learning about it in depth and then applying what I have learned through school and work. The LLM program has provided me with an opportunity to study the law in depth, to expand my knowledge and experience in the area of international law and women’s human rights by looking at the relationship between theory and practice from local and international perspectives. My experiences on foreign soil have exposed me to a wide range of issues and broadened my world view. Before I came to HLS, I studied law as a one-dimensional discipline. My experience here has exposed me to the idea that there are interesting ways in which the law could benefit from different disciplines such as psychology, sociology, anthropology, political science, philosophy, geography, medicine and so on. The inter-disciplinary perspective on the law has inspired me to think critically about how the law impacts individuals, particularly in developing countries. HLS has undoubtedly been a powerful companion on this intellectual journey.
