Outlook 2003/Exchange Email Configuration

This page is written to configure Outlook 2003 for full integration with Harvard Law School’s Exchange email environment. Please note you must have Windows XP and Office 2003 installed

It is NOT RECOMMENDED that you configure a home/personal email account and the HLS Exchange account within the same profile in Outlook 2003.  If you want to access both accounts from Outlook, it is recommended to create two separate profiles (as detailed below).  With two separate profiles you cannot access both at one time.  If you want to access both at one time, it is recommended to use two different email applications to check your two accounts.

To configure Outlook 2003 for Exchange:

  1. Open Control Panel  and switch to Classic View.
  2. Double-click on the Mail icon.
  3. If there are no profiles listed, you will see the below screen, and you can proceed to step 7.
