Enabling Automatic Software Updates in OS X
Apple releases periodic updates to patch security holes in their operating systems and fix other bugs in their software. Mac OS X can download software updates automatically, ensuring that you stay current with the latest security patches and software releases directly from Apple.
- Click the Apple Menu, then click System Preferences.
- Under System, click Software Update.
- Click on Check for Updates. (For some versions of OSX, this is called Update Software.)
- Under Check for Updates, select Daily.
- To update your computer immediately, click Check Now and install all available updates.
