Setting a Password in Windows Vista

Vista, by default, disables the Administrator Account because Microsoft found that many of the spyware, virus, and malware programs being written to break into their operating system used the Windows XP Administrator Account. Therefore, in Vista, they tightened up security and disabled this account.

You do not need to do anything to set a password for the Administrator Account in Vista.
