Over 350 alumni and guests gathered in Washington, DC for a reception to welcome Dean Martha Minow to the nation’s capital. The event, hosted by the Harvard Law School Associations of Maryland, Virginia and Washington, DC, was memorable. Paul Perito ’64, the President of the Harvard Law School Association of Washington, DC, welcomed everyone and provided a wonderful introduction for the new Dean.
Dean Martha Minow addressed attendees and provided examples of how this is an electrifying time in the legal profession. She discussed the nomination of her friend Elena Kagan '86 to the US Supreme Court and provided updates on HLS including the increase to the financial aid budget, the expansion of clinical programs and her continued dedication to making the public service sector an affordable route for graduates. Dean Minow also addressed the current environment for recent graduates and HLS’ commitment to leading the way legal education anticipates change and prepares lawyers for entry into this fast-changing profession.
Dean Minow welcomes feedback and questions from alumni and can be reached at HLSAlumniEvents@law.harvard.edu.
