Harvard Law School Latino Alumni Reunion and Latino Law and Public Policy Conference:
Advancing a National Leadership Agenda
April 19 - 22, 2007

HLS Latino Alumni Reunion 2007

February 2007

Dear Fellow HLS Latino Alumni,

Come join us in Cambridge for the first reunion of Latino/a alumni at Harvard Law School on April 19-22, 2007. The theme of our reunion is Advancing a National Leadership Agenda, and it is being held in conjunction with the 10 th Annual Latino Law & Public Policy Conference on Saturday, April 21, 2007, organized by students from Harvard Law School and the Kennedy School of Government. This is an historic event and exciting time to visit the law school and see its many positive changes. It is also a great opportunity to network and honor the more than 750 Latino/a graduates of the Harvard Law School.

Our conference weekend will begin on Thursday, April 19, 2007 with an address by Henry Cisneros at the Kennedy School of Government followed by a joint HLS/KSG Latino Alumni reception. Thursday will also provide alumni an opportunity to connect with current HLS students and learn about current developments at Harvard Law School today.

For Friday, we have organized a wonderful program that showcases many of our alumni. These panels will provoke thoughtful discussions about our roles as Latino lawyers in the varied worlds of government, judiciary, academia, media, corporations, law firms, our neighborhoods and all sectors of our society. Saturday’s events will focus on policy issues affecting the larger Latino community. Prominent political and business leaders, scholars, organizers, and alumni will lead conversations about access to housing, health insurance and wealth, advances in the political sphere, the impact of political shifts in Latin America and grassroots efforts, all which inform and advance a national agenda.

You will not want to miss our Reunion! Your participation in our gathering can make a difference. Our Latino alumni gathering is anticipated to spark a national Latino leadership network both professionally and socially. Come join us as we celebrate our alma mater and revitalize our alumni group spanning five decades. Use this as an opportunity to call that long lost classmate, to network, to learn about the current state of Latinos, or to bring your family to Boston. We look forward to seeing you and your loved ones in Cambridge this April!
