Charitable Remainder Trusts (CRTs) are individual trusts from which payments are made to the named beneficiaries for their lifetimes or a term of years. On the death of the last named beneficiary or end of the trust term, the principal is transferred to Harvard Law School to be used in accordance with your wishes.
CRTs can be established with gifts of $100,000 or greater. If you establish a charitable remainder trust with $200,000 or more, you can name non-Harvard charities as remainder beneficiaries for up to 50 percent of the value.
CRTs can be structured in a variety of ways to suit your particular situation.
