We welcome interested firms to participate in the various career programs our office offers to students throughout the year. If you are interested in contributing a speaker for one of our panels, please contact our office at ocs@law.harvard.edu.
Our office coordinates a Summer Mock Interview Program where attorney volunteers meet with and conduct mock interviews to help our students prepare for on-campus recruiting. A short guide is provided to assist our attorney volunteers in conducting these mock interviews.
Below are two ways to have your information put in to students' mailboxes. Please note, OCS cannot send announcements to students by email.
Due to students’ increased reliance on the web and our on-line employer directory, as well as to reduce your costs, we encourage you to minimize the use of paper brochures. We are happy to keep a single copy of your firm recruitment materials on file in our office.
The Law School’s student run newspaper is the Harvard Law Record. It is published weekly and well read by the student population. Many employers place advertisements in the Record during the recruiting season.
The Law School does not make the facilities of the Office of Career Services available to first-year students prior to November 1. In addition, we require that employers not communicate directly or indirectly with first-year students before December 1. This rule also prohibits informally arranging meetings with 1Ls during the fall recruitment season, even if the contact is student initiated. Invitations to social functions scheduled before December 1 should be directed only to second and third year students and, if first year students appear at such functions, employers are expected to make clear that their attendance is a violation of policy. Employers using the Office of Career Services may not organize, on their own, interview schedules in the Cambridge area for first-year students before the spring semester.
Harvard Law School is host to over 80 student organizations covering a broad spectrum of political, ethnic, religious, artistic, and social interests. These organizations include clinical programs, professional interest groups, service organizations, social groups, special interest and ethic groups and student publications.
Many employers are interested in doing special outreach to minority students. A list of affinity groups is also available.
