Submit a Job Announcement
We encourage you to email your postings to us at opia@law.harvard.edu. You may register your organization in our Public Service Job Search Database, but all positions must be emailed.
We advertise paid and volunteer summer, winter term (3-week term for 2Ls and 3Ls), term-time and postgraduate positions through email and our Public Service Job Search Database, searchable by all HLS students and alumni.
If you believe you are already registered in our database and need to recover your username and password to update your profile, please email us.
Recruit on Campus
Public interest employers are encouraged to participate in Harvard Law School’s fall and spring on-campus recruiting programs. Both the Fall Interview Program (FIP) and Spring Interview Program (SIP) are coordinated by the Office of Career Services but our office will publicize your visit in order to ensure that public service-minded students hear about it.
If you are interested in interviewing students on campus but are unable to participate in FIP or SIP, we may be able to accommodate you. Please contact us for more information.
Employers interested in reaching a wider audience are invited to participate in the Massachusetts Law School Consortium’s Public Interest/Government Recruitment Programs (spring and fall).
You may also post your job announcements on the PSLawNet database to reach law students and alumni from selected schools across the country.
Finally, consider representing your organization at the fall Equal Justice Works Career Fair for public interest employers. Students at any member law school may attend this recruitment event.
Mock Interview Program
Every fall, volunteers from public- and private-sector organizations come to campus to participate in a mock interview program aimed at preparing 1L students for the summer internship application process. Attorney volunteers conduct a series of twenty-minute interviews, followed by ten minutes of critique and feedback. We hope that you will consider participating in this valuable program. For more information, email Micah Nemiroff at mnemiroff@law.harvard.edu.
Wasserstein Fellowship Program
Public interest attorneys are encouraged to apply for our Wasserstein Fellows Program. Fellows come to campus for one or two days of one-on-one student advising and may also participate in panels or other speaking engagements.

Harvard Law School does not discriminate against any person on the basis of race, color, creed, national or ethnic origin, age, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, marital or parental status, disability, source of income, or status as a veteran in admission to, access to, treatment in, or employment in its programs and activities. All employers using the facilities and services of the Office of Career Services and Office of Public Interest Advising must comply with this policy.
Harvard Law School makes one exception to this policy. Under the threat of loss of funding to the University resulting from the Solomon Amendment, the Law School has suspended the application of its non-discrimination policy to military recruiters. This exception to our policy does not in any way reflect acceptance of, or agreement with, discriminatory hiring practices.
