Welcome to Harvard Law School! The Bernard Koteen Office of Public Interest Advising (OPIA) helps students and alumni pursue public interest options during and after law school. OPIA offers numerous resources to help expose students to the options available to them and to build community and support for public interest.

As an LLM seeking public interest career resources at HLS, you have come to the right place. Whether you have gained significant experience in your home country and are seeking to expand your legal expertise or are considering other career options, OPIA offers assistance in your public interest career pursuits.

It is important to keep in mind, as you navigate the public interest legal job market, that in addition to the competitive nature of the wider U.S. legal job market, LLMs will also face keen competition in the public interest legal market. Regardless of where you are in your job search, OPIA is committed to helping you navigate the public interest job search process. Here, you will find links to helpful  tools, job search strategies, and resources to assist you with  your search. We encourage you to take advantage of these resources during your time at Harvard Law School and beyond.
