List of Hotels for 2010 Commencement

Below is a list of hotels in the Boston-Cambridge area that you might contact for reservations for the 2020 Commencement, which will take place Thursday, May 27th, with Class Day falling one day earlier.  While some hotels have not yet made rates and reservations available, a number of hotels have done so already and expect to run out of rooms in the coming weeks and months.  We will be updating this document periodically, along with current information on room availability.

A few things to note:

• The listed rates will change as graduation nears, as may the minimum stay requirements.  The information we received is only what hotel attendants were able to give us during the last two weeks of September.  [One reservationist suggested that many hotels are at this point offering “rack rates”—typically expensive—and that rates will decline until about 8 weeks out from the date of lodging, at which point the rates will begin to increase based on availability.  However, because of the competition for room rates around graduation, it is not clear that rates will in fact decrease]. 
• The below rates do not include tax, which may amount to 12.5% or more.
• Many hotels have AAA discounts, which are not listed.
• Some hotels may have graduation discounts, or rates negotiated by Harvard, which you should ask about.
• You may be able to secure better rates on online hotel sites; the below rates are those available through the hotel directly.
• We have *not* collected information on cancellation charges, amenities, and parking rates.
• This is not an exhaustive list of hotels in the Boston-Cambridge area, though it includes many of the biggest hotels, and you may be able to find other B&Bs or smaller hotels not listed
