Professional Ethics of the Massachusetts Bar Association is pro bono. The
Committee gives written advice to Massachusetts lawyers on a wide variety of
professional responsibility issues. By its rules, those lawyers are treated
as clients of the committee and the identity of those "clients" and
the issues discussed are confidential. |

I serve prop bono as a member of
the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court's Advisory Committee on the Rules of
Professional Conduct. This committee makes recommendations to the SJC
concerning the Mass. law governing the professional conduct of state lawyers
-- including many issues about which I teach. The discussions of the
committee are confidential but some results of those discussions become
public when the recommendations of the committee are published by order of
the SJC. |
