Additional Information

Visiting Professor Lee will teach a section of Civil Procedure, as well as the seminar Roman Law, Civil Law, Common Law and the American Constitution in the Fall 2012 term. He will also teach the course Public International Law in the Spring 2013 term.

Biographical Statement

Thomas Lee is the Leitner Family Professor of International Law at Fordham Law School. He teaches civil procedure, constitutional law, international arbitration, and public international law. He was a visiting professor at Columbia Law School (2005-06) and at the University of Virginia Law School (2007), and chair of the Federal Courts section of the American Association of Law Schools (2010-11). He has advised the Constitutional Court of Korea since 2006. Before he started teaching in 2002, Lee clerked for Associate Justice David Souter of the U.S. Supreme Court (2001-02) and for Judge Michael Boudin of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit (2000-01), and worked at Wachtell, Lipton Rosen & Katz (1998, 2001). He is a graduate of Harvard Law School (J.D. 2000) where he was Articles Chair of the Harvard Law Review. In 1991, he received an A.B., summa cum laude, in East Asian Languages & Civilizations and Government, and an A.M. in East Asian Studies from Harvard, where he also completed coursework and passed general examinations for the Ph.D. in Political Science from 1996 to 1998. From 1991 to 1995, he served as a U.S. naval cryptology officer with four submarine deployments.
