Visiting Professor Xifaras will co-teach, with Professor Duncan Kennedy, the seminar The Genealogy of Continental Philosophy and Law in the Fall 2012 and Spring 2013 terms.

Biographical Statement

Mikhail Xifaras has been professor of public law at Sciences Po since September 2008. He teaches legal philosophy and jurisprudence. He is a junior member of the Institut Universitaire de France (2006, chair of Philosophy of Law.) He passed the agregation de l'enseignement superieur in public law (2004) and agregation in philosophy (1993) and holds a doctorate in philosophy (thesis prize, Universite de Besancon, 2001) and master's degrees in philosophy (DEA, Paris I, 1994), public law (DEA, Paris I, 1994) and history (Paris X, 1992). He is also a graduate of the Ecole Normale Superieure of Fontenay-Saint Cloud (1990).
