International Legal Studies
Students
There are few common denominators among the students at Harvard Law School — save for their talent and potential. They come from all 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico and more than 70 countries. They hold degrees from universities all over the world. And they have practical experience as well. For example, prior to coming to HLS, students served in the military and the Peace Corps, worked for the United Nations, the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, the World Bank and, in the case of LL.M. students, as Supreme or Constitutional Law Court clerks across the world. In short, HLS students are a talented and engaging group. And by studying together at HLS, students acquire not only skills but knowledge of perspectives and legal systems from around the world — and prepare to be leaders who will use their legal training in law, government, the judiciary, academe, business and the not-for-profit sector in the global environment of the 21st century.
