2006 Placement Organizations

Beginning in Fall 2005, students who are interested in the Chayes International Public Service Fellowship program may explore a number of options in order to secure an approved placement.

1. On this page the Chayes Fellowship Program provides a regularly updated list of pre-approved placement organizations that would like to host a Chayes Fellow for the summer whose interests and skills match the needs of the organization. These authorized placement organizations are screened to ensure that the proposed placement meets the Chayes Program's requirements. Students should check listings regularly as new placements will be added in the course of the fall and winter months.

2. Harvard Law School students who are interested in working with organizations that are not on the roster of authorized placements are encouraged to explore possible placements on their own. There are a number of resources that can be helpful in this search that are available through the OPIA office website. The link to the Job Search Database is particularly helpful. Once a placement organization has been identified students are required to get the placement organizations to complete and submit a placement form to the Chayes International Public Service Fellowship Program for final approval.

Staff at the Bernard Koteen Office of Public Interest Advising and the Chayes Fellowship Program are available to discuss potential placement organizations and make recommendations to interested students. Also, OPIA student liaisons and former Chayes Fellows can serve as a resource.
