• Sunday: 9:00 a.m. to midnight
• Monday-Thursday: 8:00 a.m. to midnight
• Friday: 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
• Saturday: 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
24/7 Library Access
During the academic year, Harvard Law School students have 24 hours a day, seven days a week access to the second floor of the Library. The Computer Classroom, Fishman Room and Lemann Lounge are all available as study space. Library services are not available except during regular service hours.
Please contact the Circulation Desk, 617-495-3455, for additional information about Library hours as well as policies for obtaining access to the Library. Note that we are open regular hours on holidays when classes are in session.

Historical & Special Collections Reading Room Hours

Please consult Historical & Special Collections for the most current information on holiday and other closures. Special Collections materials will not be retrieved after 4:15 p.m. and all materials must be returned 15 minutes before closing.
Holiday Hours Policy
The Library is open regular hours on Columbus Day, Martin Luther King Day, Presidents Day and Veterans Day. Labor Day may vary.
The Library is closed on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day including the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.
The Library has early closings on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving Day and on Christmas Eve. Library hours are reduced during the Winter Recess from Christmas Eve until the beginning of the Winter Term in January.
Reading and Exam Period Extended Hours & Restricted Access Policy
The Library restricts access during the Fall Term, Winter Term and Spring Term reading and exam periods. During restricted access only Harvard Law School students, faculty and staff are allowed regular HUID access to the Library. All other patrons with a specific need to use or borrow materials in the Library collections must first check in at the Circulation Desk for access.
