Laptop Printing, New Printer Added.

Laptop Printing Capabilities Expand!

In order to make laptop printing within the library even more convenient, a second printer has been added here at the library.
[View map showing these printers locations.]

The new printer is located on the second floor in the Fishman Room. To find it, look in the copier alcove (Rm. 203) immediately to the right as you enter the Fishman Room. (A photocopier was already located in this alcove. It has now been joined by the new printer.)

The original laptop printing printer, located on the fourth floor in the copier room near the reference desk, is also still available.

Accessing the New Printer:

If you are already using laptop printing, you will note that the new printer will not automatically appear on your laptop's printers list. To see the new printer, you must update your version of the laptop print client. A special "update only" version of the install script is available just for this purpose.

If you are not already using laptop printing (and, therefore, have not already installed the laptop print client) simply installing the latest full version of the client will include the new printer. (I.e., it's not necessary to run the update after installing the latest version of the the client.)

Installation & Setup:

Both the "update only" and full-client installation programs are available on the Law School's ITS Community Website. To learn more about specific system requirements and to download and install the required print client software, click here.

Please do read the associated “Installation Information” and “Public Laptop Printing FAQ" documents. (These documents are also available from the ITS Community Website alongside the download link.)

Technical Support:

Please note that technical support for issues relating to installation and configuration of the print client should be referred to the Law School's ITS group. Library Tech RAs are familiar with the software and can offer general advice on the process but are not experts. For expert advice, please contact the ITS Student Help Desk in 030 Hauser.

For problems associated with the laptop printers themselves, as with all library printers, please contact one of the Library Tech RAs.

Limitations:

Please note that, in this initial implementation, the required print client is only available for Windows-based laptops. A Macintosh version of the client software is not yet available.
