Administrative Law Research Essentials
Nervous to show up at your firm without knowing what regulations are, never mind how to find them? Prepare for summer by learning the essentials of administrative law research. In this 45-minute session, a librarian will explain what constitutes administrative legal materials, review federal administrative publications, and suggest strategies for finding agency-specific materials. 1Ls are especially welcome.
This class will be offered in the Library computer lab, L233, at three times:
- Fri., Apr. 15, 2:30- 3:15 p.m.
- Thurs., Apr. 21, 10:30-11:15 a.m.
- Thurs., Apr. 21, 2:30- 3:15 p.m.

Securities Law Research Essentials
In just one hour, you can learn to navigate the key sources of law associated with the practice of securities law and know the most efficient and cost-effective options for finding them. This class will review the major document types in securities law, then look at the CCH Research Network and Federal Securities Law Reporter, what's available (and what's not) on the SEC's own website, relevant sources on Lexis/Nexis and Westlaw, and more. This class is open to any student anticipating doing securities law research in the workplace this summer, whether or not you have taken a class in securities law.
