New Chairs Arrive at the Library
Just in time for the start of the new school year, the library has updated its seating offerings!
On all floors except the fourth, i.e., the Reading Room and the Reference Room, the familiar wooden chairs have been replaced by modern, ergonomic task-chairs. The original wooden chairs have been retained in the Reading Room and the Reference Room, thereby, hopefully, offering seating options for those who prefer the traditional chairs.
This change was made in response to student requests for more comfortable and adjustable furniture in the library. The specific chairs themselves, the Knoll “Life” Chair, were selected after extensive review by a committee comprised of of both students and administrators. The Knoll chair presented what was deemed to be the best combination of comfort, functionality, durability and appearance.
As with any issues regarding library furnishings, please report any problems with the new chairs to the main circulation desk. Comments about the chairs can also be directed to the library's general email account.
Welcome back to the library. We hope you enjoy the new chairs!
