LibraryFest '06, Exceeds Expectations!

This year's Love Your LibraryFest, the Law School Library's second annual fall open house, was a resounding success, with attendance far exceeding our wildest expectations.

Last year about 120 people completed the 5-part “Reference Challenge” to claim a movie ticket. We though that was a pretty impressive response ... until this year when more more than 235 met the Challenge!

In fact, so many people completed the event that we ran out of movie tickets! (Don't worry though, for all those who completed the Challenge but didn't get a movie ticket on the big day, additional tickets are now available. Just stop by the library administration office, on Areeda 5, above the Langdell reference desk, to collect your much deserved prize.)

Also, just like last year, in addition to the many movie tickets given away, a raffle was held to see who would take home a really cool grand prize. Significantly upping the ante from last year's iPod Shuffles, this year's prize was a 4 megapixel digital camera! So, after all the completed Challenge forms were submitted, one winner was drawn. That lucky winner received a brand new Canon PowerShot A520, a compact digital camera with 4X optical zoom.

This year's grand prize winner was 1L Elizabeth Mansfield Gerber. Congratulations to her and to everyone who came to our open house. Thank you for coming. We hope to see you again next year!
