Updating California Regulations
The California Regulatory Code Supplement (known as the “Register”) is published weekly and is available on Westlaw and Lexis. Or, you can check the “Update List” on the official website by clicking here, and then clicking on the link to the Update List.
a. Westlaw databases:
- CA-REGTRK:
(California Regulation Tracking). For the scope of coverage included within
this database, click
here. Tools within this database include a summary of the regulation,
as well as status information and citation, or any other administrative register
information. Sponsoring agency and contact information are included.
- CA-REGTXT:
(California Regulation Tracking – Full Text). For the scope of coverage

- CA-SNREGS: (California Regulation Tracking & Text Combined). For the scope of coverage included within this database, click here.
b. Lexis databases:
- RGALRT: (RegAlert
– California Documents). This file is updated daily and contains the
text of proposed regulations, as well as the full text of final regulations.
- CAREGS: (California
Administrative Code & California Regulatory Law Bulletin). For the scope
of coverage included within this file, as well as its update schedule, click
on the "i" icon (source description) located on the right side of
the library name, from within Lexis. The California Regulatory Law Bulletin,
a weekly publication by Barclays, is a weekly service covering new and proposed
regulations.
- CARGTR: (California State Regulation Tracking). This file includes summaries of proposed regulations in addition to status actions for individual regulations being promulgated by various agencies within the state of California.
