How to Cite to Canadian Case Decisions
In Canada, the main style guide is the Canadian Guide to Uniform Legal Citation (now in its 5th edition, and commonly referred to as the "McGill Guide.") This differs from the United States, where legal researchers mainly use The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (commonly referred to as "The Bluebook".) It should be noted that the rules vary between each of these citation style guides. Chapter 3 within the McGill Guide provides rules of citation as it pertains to case law in Canada and a few other countries.
