The Harvard Law Review has elected second-year student Aileen McGrath as its 120th president. McGrath was chosen from a slate of ten candidates.

"I am thrilled for Aileen and for the Law Review," said outgoing president Brian Fletcher. "During her time as an editor, Aileen has consistently demonstrated her intelligence, passion for the law and dedication to the Law Review. We look forward to a great year under her leadership."

Before enrolling at Harvard, McGrath graduated from Columbia University in 2003 with a B.A. in History. She is a native of Staten Island, N.Y.

"Brian and his class have made tremendous advancements in legal scholarship and our organization," McGrath said. "I have the honor of working with an immensely talented group of editors. The Law Review is an institution with a 119-year tradition of excellence in legal scholarship. With the tremendous abilities and commitment of our editors, I am confident we will carry that tradition forward."

During Fletcher’s term as president, the Review organized a Supreme Court forum and launched the Harvard Law Review Forum, an online discussion of the Law Review’s articles.

The Law Review, founded in 1887 by future Supreme Court Justice Louis D. Brandeis, is an entirely student-edited journal with the largest circulation of any law journal in the world. For more information on the publication and recent issues, please visit The Harvard Law Review website.
