- HLS students travel to Auschwitz to teach diplomats about negotiation in the face of genocide
- On May 16th, two HLS students, Rene A. Pfromm LL.M. '08 and Ines Wu '09, together with Stephan Sonnenberg '06, Harvard Negotiation and Mediation Program (HNMCP) clinical fellow and lecturer on law, delivered a one day workshop on negotiation in the context of genocide and mass atrocities. - Students participate in historic apartheid litigation
- Last week, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled on a case that nearly 20 Harvard Law School Human Rights Program clinical students have worked on over the last three years. The students assisted with the case on behalf of a group of South African apartheid victims, who brought claims against over 50 top multinational corporations for doing buisiness with the apartheid regime. - Berkman Center celebrates 10th anniversary with conference exploring the future of the Internet
- The Berkman Center for Internet and Society is celebrating its 10th anniversary this week at its Berkman at 10 Conference entitled "The Future of the Internet." - Four young HLS faculty members selected to participate in Junior Faculty Forum
- Assistant Professors I. Glenn Cohen '03, Adriaan Lanni, Jed Shugerman, and Matthew Stephenson '03 each had papers selected for the ninth annual Stanford-Yale Junior Faculty Forum, which will take place at Yale Law School in June. [Thu, 15 May 2008]

- Third-year student argues case before First Circuit
- On May 7, Lena Konanova '08 capped off her law school experience by representing a client bringing a case of employment discrimination before the First Circuit Court of Appeals in Boston. The opportunity arose as part of her clinical placement in the Employment Civil Rights Clinic at the WilmerHale Legal Services Center. [Wed, 14 May 2008]

- Malone and Jacobs appointed clinical professors of law
- Phil Malone and Wendy Jacobs '81 have been appointed clinical professors of law, Dean Elena Kagan '86 announced today. Both currently lecturers on law, Malone is a co-director of the Berkman Center for Internet and Society's clinical program and Jacobs is director of the Environmental Law and Policy Clinic. - HLS crew team wins graduate student regatta
- On April 26, the Harvard Law School crew team took home a first place finish in the International Graduate School Regatta. The regatta featured graduate school crews from Boston College, the University of Pennsylvania, Dartmouth, MIT, Yale, and Harvard. [Mon, 12 May 2008]

- Harvard Law faculty votes for 'open access' to scholarly articles
- In a move that will disseminate faculty research and scholarship as broadly as possible, the Harvard Law School faculty unanimously voted last week to make each faculty member's scholarly articles available online for free, making HLS the first law school to commit to open access. - David Kessler '09 will have an article published in the January 2009 edition of the Journal of Criminal Law and Criminology. Though students regularly publish "notes" in law reviews and journals, it is more unusual for them to have articles published. [Tue, 06 May 2008]

- HLS clinical instructors write guide to help tenants stay in their homes
- At a time when increased home foreclosures are forcing many renters out of their homes, two HLS clinical instructors at the WilmerHale Legal Services Center have written a comprehensive guide on tenants' rights after foreclosure. The guide, written by instructors Esme Caramello '99 and Rafael Mares '99, will be featured in the forthcoming edition of Legal Tactics, published by the Massachusetts Law Reform Institute.
