International Events Across Harvard

In addition to international events at HLS, students can also take advantage of the wide range of events across Harvard University. Some recent examples include the following:

  • As part of its Kim Koo Forum on U.S.-Korea Relations, the Asia Center organized a talk on “The U.S. and North Korea: Dealing with Irrationality” by University of Chicago Professor Bruce Cummings
  • The Center for International Development sponsored a talk by World Bank Chief Economist and Senior Vice President Justin Lin on economic growth identification and facilitation
  • The Center for Middle Eastern Studies hosted a talk on “Governing Areas of Dissidence: Nation-Building and Ethnic Movements in Turkey and Morocco” by Princeton University Professor Senem Aslan
  • The David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies hosted a talk on “The Real War in Mexico: The Role of Democracy in Defeating the Drugs Cartels” by Shannon O’Neil, Douglas Dillon Fellow for Latin American Studies at the Council on Foreign Relations
  • The Francois-Xavier Bagnoud Center for Health and Human Rights organized a film screening of “Home is Where You Find It” in recognition of World AIDS Orphans Day
  • The Weatherhead Center for International Affairs sponsored a talk on “Afghanistan: How to End Violent Conflict and Promote Reconciliation” by former UN diplomat and former ambassador to Croatia Peter Galbraith
