In the final weeks before New Hampshire’s first votes were cast in Dixville Notch, HLS campaigners were kicking it up a notch.Students working for Barack Obama ’91 loaded onto buses and fanned out across New Hampshire. Over winter break, others went to Iowa to help get out the vote.
A handful of students spent a couple of days a week at the Boston headquarters of Mitt Romney ’75, working on ballot access and Federal Election Commission compliance matters.
HLS volunteers for Hillary Clinton organized campus events, and a few went to New Hampshire to canvass and to pore over voter databases.
The HLS contingent supporting John Edwards included the candidate’s daughter, Cate, a 2L. Said Tyler Rosen ’09, “We’ve organized a few trips up to New Hampshire and the group has been proud to support Cate and Senator Edwards.” Talking with voters, he said, “is a great learning experience.”
