David Fox

One of the leading members of Kirkland's Corporate Practice Group, David Fox focuses his practice on complex mergers and acquisitions, and counsels senior management in connection with crisis situations, as well as on general governance matters.  Mr. Fox has been involved in some of the most notable transactions of the last decade. Currently, among others, he is representing Teva in connection with its $6.8 billion agreement to acquire Cephalon, Avis Budget in its unsolicited $1.5 billion offer to acquire Dollar Thrifty and McCormick & Schmick's in its defense of a hostile takeover attempt by Landry's Restaurants. Recently, he represented Bristol-Myers Squibb in its $885 million acquisition of ZymoGenetics, Koor Industries in Makhteshim-Agan Industries' $2.4 billion merger agreement with a subsidiary of ChemChina, and Teva in its $5 billion acquisition of ratiopharm. Mr. Fox's transactional work has been recognized by numerous legal and financial publications, including Chambers USA and Chambers Global and The American Lawyer. In addition, as a contributing author of the Kirkland M&A Update, Mr. Fox's thought leadership has been recognized by various academic and business publications including The Harvard Law School Forum on Corporate Governance and Financial Regulation,The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times' Deal Professor and Investment Dealers' Digest.  Mr. Fox received his LL.B. from Hebrew University of Jerusalem School of Law in 1982 where he was Valedictorian and a Member of the Editorial Board of Law Review.
