Fernando Diez Estella(Spain) Fall 2000
received his degree in Law in 1995, and his degree in Economics in 1996, both from Universidad Pontificia de Comillas (ICADE), Madrid. He received his Researcher sufficiency degree in 1998 at Universidad Autonoma de Madrid and is presently a PhD candidate in commercial law in the same University. He is also Assistant Professor of Commercial Law at Universidad Antonio de Nebrija and Assistant Director of Colegio Mayor Montalban, at Universidad Complutense de Madrid. His published work includes articles in Competition Law reviews such as "Noticias de la UE" and "Gaceta Jurídica de la Competencia y de la UE". Fernando’s research at the ELRC deals with Antitrust Law, focusing on evaluating to what extent current trends in American Antitrust law -such as the economic analysis or the post Chicago paradigm- are suitable for assessing analysis of European Competition Law.

Sabina Ubeda Valencia (Spain) 1997-1998, 1998-1999, 1999-2000, 2000-2001
received her Juris Doctor degree in 1994, her Researcher Sufficiency degree in 1996 and is currently a Ph.D candidate. Sabina is also is an Assistant Professor of Law with a research interest area in Products Liability and Torts. Her most recent research and published work include, The Regulation of Lease Contracts in Spain and a collaboration in the book, Civil Law Cases and Materials. During the last two years, she has been a Researcher at the ELRC, where she is analyzing the differencies and similarities of the American and Spanish legal systems in regard to Products Liability.

Alejandro Lorite Escorihuela (Spain), 1999-2000, 2000-2001
is currently in the SJD Program at Harvard Law School. Alejandro graduated in 1997 from the University of Geneva and the Graduate Institute of International Studies, Geneva (Switzerland) and got his D.E.S in Public International Law from the Graduate Institute of International Studies in 1998. In 1997-1998, he worked with the Legal Division of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Geneva. His doctoral project at HLS deals with a comparative perspective on the theory of international law in Europe and the United States.

The Center counts itself fortunate to have Alejandro on staff as its ELRC 2000-2001 Fellow. This year he will work closely with the Director, Professor Kennedy, to organize lectures, events and conferences that will take place. Alejandro will also coordinate all the directed research for the Center.
