HRP Global Human Rights Fellowships

Description
The HRP Global Human Rights Fellowship, offered through the Human Rights Program (HRP) of Harvard Law School, will support graduating 3Ls, LL.M.s, or recent HLS graduates with a demonstrated commitment to human rights. The fellowship will support human rights work with a non-governmental, intergovernmental, or governmental organization outside of the United States for a period of 12 months.

The HRP Global Human Rights Fellowship is intended to enable students to work at frontline organizations in the international human rights field, and to expand opportunities for students who wish to pursue careers in human rights. The Fellowship will be determined by a committee of faculty members, senior administrators of Harvard Law School, and/or full time professional staff of HRP.

Eligibility
For Harvard Law School J.D. students: 3Ls expecting to receive the J.D. degree in June 2008, as well as recent J.D. graduates.

For Harvard Law School LL.M. students: Students who expect to receive the LL.M. degree in 2008.

Interviews may be required for finalists with the Fellowship selection committee.

Funding Amounts
Fellowship awards are made without regard to financial need. The HRP Global Human Rights Fellowship carries a stipend of $40,000 for the 12-month fellowship period, plus medical and other benefits. Fellows are required to keep HRP informed of any additional funding they receive.
