This event featured Reuven Ziegler, visiting professor from the University of Oxford. The talk offered comparative perspectives on the recent UK Supreme Court's ruling in the Jews Free School (JFS) case (alleged discriminatory admissions policy) and the Israeli Supreme Court's ruling in the Emanuel Jewish Ultra-Orthodox school case (alleged Ashkenazi/Mizrachi ethnic segregation). It explored the impact that the rulings, and their aftermath, may have on the fragile balance between state, religion and ethnicity.
