Please join the Human Rights Program (HRP) for this panel discussion featuring representatives from Human Rights First, Bard College, and
the Harvard Divinity School, to be held
on November 20, 2006 at 5:00PM in Pound Hall 332.
Featured speakers include:
Elaine Thomas, "European Human Rights Law and France's Response to Muslim Head Scarves." Thomas is
an Associate Professor of Political Studies at Bard College
Neil Hicks, "Promoting Human Rights in North Africa from the United States." Hicks is
the Director of the Human Rights Defenders program at Human Rights First
Fatima Sadiqi, "Women, Human Rights and Muslim Law in Morocco." Sadiqi is
a Visiting Professor of Women's Studies and Islamic Religious Studies at Harvard Divinity School.
The panel will be moderated by Anthony Chase, Visiting Fellow with Harvard Law School's Human Rights Program, and Assistant Professor
of Diplomacy and World Affairs at Occidental College.
