Alternative Law Forum (ALF) was founded in March 2003 by a collective of lawyers with the belief that there was a need for
an alternative practice of law in India. ALF provides qualitative legal services to marginalized groups, is an autonomous
research institution with a strong interdisciplinary approach, is a public legal resource to access information, is a center
that generates quality resources for interventions in legal education and training and enables collaborative and creative models of knowledge
production. ALF is committed to legal practice that will respond to issues of social and economic justice.
Association of the Erased
Slovenia
The Association of the Erased is a non-profit, non-governmental organization working on behalf of former citizens
of Yugoslavia who resided in Slovenia at the time of Slovenia's independence and were erased from the country's
registry of permanent residence per an act of Parliament in 1992. The group works to publicize the issue and bring
individual claims to the European Court of Human Rights.
Asociation por los Derechos Civiles (ADC, Association for Civil Rights)

Asociacion por los Derechos Civiles is a non-profit, non-governmental and non-partisan organization. It was founded in 1995
in Argentina with the purpose of contributing to the establishment of a legal and institutional culture that would guarantee
fundamental rights for Argentina's inhabitants based on respect for the Constitution.
Center for Law and Democracy
Monterrey, Mexico
The Center for Law and Democracy is a program of the Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey. The program works
to assist local and national government agencies in human rights, and to train judges and legal practitioners in children's, women's and anti-torture rights.
Centre for Positive Care (CPC)
Limpopo Province, South Africa
The Centre for Positive Care is a non-profit, non-governmental organization working in four districts (Capricorn, Mopani, Vhembe and Waterberg) of the
Limpopo Province of South Africa. CPC was formed in 1993 and registered as an NGO in 1997. CPC is currently based in the Vhembe district of Limpopo.
Its mission is to prevent and mitigate HIV/AIDS and to improve the quality of life of people infected and affected by HIV/AIDS, particularly, low-income
marginalized and vulnerable men, women and children living in remote rural communities, border towns and high-risk areas.
Foundation for Human Rights Initiatives (FHRI)

The Foundation for Human Rights Initiatives is an independent, non-governmental organization established in December 1991 to enhance
the knowledge, respect and observance of human rights, and to encourage exchange of information and experiences and best practices through
training, education, research, advocacy, lobbying, and strategic partnerships. It seeks to remove impediments to democratic development and
meaningful enjoyment of the fundamental freedoms enshrined in the 1995 Constitution and other internationally
recognized human rights instruments.
Gender Research and Advocacy Project, Legal Assistance Centre

The Gender Research and Advocacy Project seeks to promote gender equality and the empowerment of women through legal research,
law reform and related advocacy work. It is a project of the Legal Assistance Centre (LAC), a non-profit public interest
law center in Namibia.

The International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia was established by UN Security Council resolution 827. This resolution was
passed on May 25, 1993 in the face of the serious violations of international humanitarian law committed in the territory of the former Yugoslavia
since 1991, and as a response to the threat to international peace and security posed by those serious violations.

in Africa by means of research, analysis and selected intervention. IJR seeks to understand the causes of conflict and use such an understanding
in the solution of conflict. It provides situational analysis, builds capacity and produces resources for social transformation and development.
Justica Global

Justica Global is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of human rights in Brazil through rigorous fact-finding, documentation
and reporting, as well as the use of international mechanisms for the protection of human rights. Justica Global supports the increased use of
international mechanisms through intensive courses, on-site training and joint actions at an international level, with local partner Brazilian NGOs
and social movements.
Khmer Institute for Democracy (KID)

The Khmer Institute for Democracy's mission is to foster democratic values in Cambodian society by maintaining a neutral political position. It carries out

Timap for Justice

Timap for Justice is a legal aid organization that works on advancing justice in rural, post-conflict Sierra Leone. With seed money from the
Open Society Justice Initiative, the organization trains rural paralegals to work with local communities to advance justice at the interface
of tribal and governmental laws.

Transparency International brings people together in powerful worldwide coalition to end the devastating impact of corruption on men, women
and children around the world. TI's mission is to create change toward a world free of corruption. TI brings together relevant players from government,
civil society, business and the media to promote transparency in elections, public administration, procurement, and business. TI's global network
of chapters and contacts also use advocacy campaigns to lobby governments to implement anti-corruption reforms.

Unidos por la Justicia focuses on judicial reform and improvement of the rule of law in Latin America, particularly in Argentina. Its guiding principles are:
advancement of civil liberties and human rights, judicial and legal reform, ease of access to justice, promotion of judicial accountability, and efficient
judicial administration. The organization takes a broad-based approach to strengthening democracy in Argentina and the nation's judicial system.
Visayan Forum Foundation, Inc. (VF)

Asian in perspective and local in context, Visayan Forum Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit, non-stock and tax-exempt non-governmental
organization in the Philippines, established in 1991. VF works for the welfare of marginalized migrants, especially those working in the invisible
and informal sectors, like domestic workers and trafficked women and children.
WomenPowerConnect (WPC), Gender and Law
Project, IFES

WomenPowerConnect is a sub-project of the Gender and Law Project, launched by IFES, and its partner Global Rights in India in 2003. IFES is an international
non-profit organization dedicated to building democratic socieities, which through the Gender and Law Project aims to enhance the ability of Indian women
to protect their rights and to increase their access to justice. WPC was born out of a realization that despite substantial grassroots efforts and advocacy,
women's groups in India lacked the coordination to affect national legislative outcomes. WPC is establishing issue-based committees to provide a focus for initial
lobbying activity, in addition to creating state chapters and building membership.
