Islamic Law Courses at Harvard University

Harvard University offers some 120 courses each year dealing with the languages, history, art, literature, and society of the Middle East and of the entire Islamic world. Each Harvard school has its course catalogue online, which is uploaded prior to the start of the academic year; please access the course catalogues of the schools offering the discipline in which you have the most interest.

ILSP is a supporter of the curriculum in Islamic legal studies throughout the University. A few examples of ILSP-supported courses at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences are "Fatwas and Muftis" (Spring 2008), "Ottoman Legal History" (Spring 2006), "Contemporary Political Islam" (Spring 2006), and "Islamic Legal Theory" (Spring 2003). An announcement will be posted here of the next ILSP-supported course.
